Valerie had no idea that she had my full attention…
This could be the beginning of a novel. Well it certainly was the beginning of the wonderful week in France and this pastel represents about everything that goes along with that.
Shortly after we had arrived we drove on to a small town called Loubejac. Around the church local farm people offered their specialties. You just had to bring along your cutlery and something to drink. The most delicious food was prepared. The local people arrived, met their friends and had a jolly time.

Valerie was standing in half shade preparing ratatouille. I couldn’t get my eyes of her dress and apron, a moving color combination of complimentary colors. This pastel of Valerie was done back home in my studio in Germany and will be treasured forever.
