The last few days I spend some time with fellow painters at the Plein Air Festival in Berlin-Brandenburg. The group was put together internationally and we even had some painters over from Ireland. After the last week of getting everything ready for my open studio it was a welcomed change. Especially, because these were the first warm days in the year. Sunshine, a warm wind and no hail showers.

One of my motives was the Stolpe lake where the last clouds showed up for the next couple of days. After that it was just a pure blue sky. ( You probably know, how much I like that)
So I had to turn my attention to something new and boy to me it were completely new colors.

The night before we had talked about game stoppers, when something goes wrong that you can’t finish your painting. On my first day of this painting I wasn`t satisfied with the shadows in the water, so I returned the next day. Just I was ready the sound of a nearby lawn mower startled me. And before I knew a guy cut the beautiful lawn with all it’s dandelions. Luckily I finished that part the day before.

auch die Stimmung in »fremden Gefilden« hast du mit Licht und Schatten ganz toll eingefangen! Kann mir vorstellen das du es genießen konntest mit Maler Kollegen zusammen zu sein. Wenn alle auf einer Wellenlänge sind, das ist wie eine Tankstelle für die Inspiration!
Ich taste mich im Moment im Bereich Öl/Acryl vor. Leider verziehen sich meine MDF Platten, obwohl bei einem Kunstmarkt bestellt! Da muss ich wohl noch andere Malgründe ausprobieren.

Hallo Claudia, ich mische mich ungern ein, habe aber Tips für Dich: versuche mal, einfache Mdf Platten aus d. Baumarkt mit Gesso zu grundieren und erst dann zu bemalen. Wenn sie sich trotzdem verziehen, stärkere Platten nehmen. Format und Stärke müssen in e.gesunden Verhältnis stehen.
Ich persönlich beklebe MDF-Platten mit Leinwand von der Rolle, die nimmt die Farbe besser ab. Bei großen Formaten nehme ich aber wegen des Versandgewichtes und der Kosten für den Kleber lieber Keilrahmen.
