This week we had this fantastic weahter, typicall for April. I just love to watch the quick changes in the sky: From light clear blue to dramatic scenarios. Yummie…
So I said at the window, took everythink in and hurried into the studio. It was such great fun.
Unfortunately now the sky is one boring pale blue:-)

I think artists everywhere are noticing the amazing weather this Spring. Your pastel captures the magic beautifully.
Referring to your previous post, during the days following the attack on the World Trade Center, there were also no jet contrails in the sky. It was as if a veil had been lifted. We could see migrating cranes flying over the Continental Divide, their wings sparkling in the purest sunlight in at least a century. One of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. I'll never forget it.

Hi Jala,
that's not my intention…:-)The pastel community would dearly miss an inspirational pastel artist.
I'm glad you like them.
Sam,
thanks so much.
It's funny that the weather seems to be similar where you and Jala live with our weather over here.
You put into words what I felt after the flight restrictions were made. "A veil had been lifted of the sky." How beautiful must the sky be without all the air pollution…

I love these studies, Astrid – the rainy one is wonderful. My wife and I will be in Hessen in Germany for a week this summer – hopefully the volcano in Iceland won't make air travel difficult during the summer months…
