After long weeks of rain, the weather forecast promised sun and some stormy days.So I went out and on the beach. An older gentleman watched me painting asked if I didn’t mind the stormy weather.He wondered why my easel didn’t take off. So here is my set up for plein air painting. All from the wonderful and stormy weather proofed plein air artist Roos Schuring from the Netherlands.<\/p>\n

First of all I bought another easel, the Mabef M23 which is a smaller version. Much easier to transport.<\/p>\n

On the compartments lies a plastic bag filled with sand to stabilize the easel.<\/p>\n

On the easel attached with a staple gun is a piece of cardboard. It stays there even if the easel is folded.<\/p>\n

On the cardboard the canvas is attached with the staple gun from the backside. This way I can easily paint to the edges.<\/p>\n

I do love to mix on a big palette. On top of the palette a duck tape is fixed.<\/p>\n

Underneath the duck tape leaves enough space to put it around the drawer. I use the construction with the same duck tape for now over a year. It works surprisingly well and my palette never took of.<\/p>\n
